Field expedient operation is always at the top of our design punch list and it's what drove the need to create a fully integrated manpack around the popular Yaesu FT-891 HF Transceiver. With the manpack's integrated CPU (full version of Windows), expandable battery pack, and intuitive front panel, all you need to do is hook up an antenna and power on the system...no need to pull it out of your pack, no internet required, and no wires!

Because of the Manpack's automatically hosted wifi network, you will be able to use your preferred tablet or phone to wirelessly control the rig for digital comms. The internal WiFi/BT antennas also make it possible to connect a wireless keyboard for digital work with small screens.

The Manpack 891 includes your choice of 6ah or 12ah 12v LiFePO4 battery pack. The battery can be charged from the front panel using the DC plug and factory battery charger or by plugging in a solar panel and charge controller in the field without the need to remove it from your pack.
